Sunsella Egg Rings

Contents:

  • 4 silicone circular molds
  • E-recipe download

Background:

I am always in the kitchen and letting my girls help out. Sometimes we like doing a little extra special dinners. Making individual portions or designs is one way we like to change things up.
Sunsella Egg Rings allowed the creaivity to go the extra step in our kitchen.

Quality/Design:

The  Sunsella Egg Rings are made form silicone. They are not as sturdy as I would have liked, but they get the job done. The little handle is nice and cool to the touch allowing both me and my 11 year old to use it without getting burned or to close to the heat.

Performance:

Here is where it gets tricky. The first time I used the Sunsella Egg Rings, the batter just dripped out he bottom. I realized a few things. First of all, you need a large round frying pan. Next dip the silicon ring into the batter and place in pan for a few seconds before adding batter. Once heated, it will form a protective barrier and you can add your food. Basically, it does work, but you need to play with it a few minutes before using.

Suggestions:

  • Make an egg based quiche. I like to make it healthy using broccoli, spinach and eggs. Place in the molds and now you have fancy little sides. Cute for family night. If you want to serve this as a meal, add some diced pre-cooked meat to the batter.
  • When you make your eggs, try making silly faces. For example before the eggs set, place two olives as the eyes and a slice of pepper as the mouth. Kids like acting silly. If you little on is old enough, call them over to make the faces.

Bottom Line:

The Sunsella Egg Rings is a really fun kitchen gadget to have around especially for kids. You can make their food into fun individual servings or you can use it as a base and get creative afterwards. Whatever the case may be, the Sunsella Egg Rings is fun to have around.
